Tesla's Shanghai Plant To Be Shut Down For Renovation In Order To Expand Production

According to an internal document, Tesla's Shanghai Superplant will be closed from July 1 to 4 for a power outage and a holiday to coincide with the plant's production ramp-up.

In addition, Tesla's Model 3 production plant will be shut down from July 18 and employees will be on leave for more than 15 days.

According to the public announcement, Tesla will invest up to US$180 million in this production line renovation, and the expansion is expected to increase production to 96,000 vehicles per month and over 1.1 million vehicles per year.
