Tesla's Official Website Goes Live With CCS Combo 1 Power Adapter

Tesla today on the official website of the United States and Canada and other shelves Tesla CCS Combo1 power adapter, the adapter provides up to 250kW charging speed, can be used for third-party charging network.

According to the introduction, Tesla CCS Combo1 adapter can enhance the charging power of third-party charging posts. Previously, only Tesla V3 Supercharger can provide 250kW charging power, and after accessing the adapter, most of the charging posts in the market, are able to bring 250kW charging power.

The CCS Combo1 adapter is currently priced at $250 in the U.S. (, however, while this product is compatible with most Tesla vehicles, Tesla also mentioned that certain vehicles may require modifications to use the CCS Combo1 adapter.

For models that are not compatible, Tesla will offer a retrofit service, but it will not be available until early 2023.

In the past year, Tesla said it was about to open its Supercharger network to non-Tesla electric vehicles.

As a result a large number of Tesla owners have expressed concern that this will increase traffic at Superchargers and that Tesla owners may not be able to get in line. With the introduction of the CCS Combo1 adapter, owners won't have to worry about that.

Tesla had announced in 2020 that the CCS1 adapter was coming, but for some reason it was only available in South Korea.
