Tesla Model 3 & Y AWD Receive Combined $4,700 Subsidy in Shenzhen, China

Tesla said that the Model 3 and Model Y RWD have received a new temporary subsidy in Shenzhen, as long as you buy the car in Shenzhen between December 18 and January 31, 2023 to enjoy the temporary subsidy policy of $1720.

In addition, Tesla has successively launched $570 insurance subsidy, 20,000 treasure box points bonus and $860 discount during this period, plus the previous $1590 state subsidy, the accumulated subsidy has now reached $4730.

In October, Tesla announced a pricing reduction for the Model 3 and Model Y models available for sale in mainland China, with a price range of $2,000 to $5,300. Currently the Model 3 starts at $38,000 and the Model Y starts at $41,400.

The price cut is a subsidy given by the local government, but Tesla's sales have been strongly impacted by BYD in the Chinese market. BYD Song EV+DM-i has been defending the first place in the Chinese SUV sales ranking for many months. Chinese people have increasingly favored Chinese branded electric cars.

It is understood that Tesla has reduced its price several times in the Chinese market to attract more orders from Chinese users. With only 12 days until the end of the year, I wonder if Tesla will be able to meet the performance targets set at the beginning of the year.
