Tesla May Be Getting A Big Update To Provide Users With More Accurate Range Estimates

According to T, sources say: Tesla seems to be adding new factors to its car range estimates, which may provide users with more accurate range estimates in the future.

Tesla fan "green" (greentheonly on Twitter) regularly posts posts about hidden things he finds in Tesla software updates. Just recently, he posted a tweet about the Tesla 2022.20.7 software update: Tesla may be preparing to work on improving the accuracy of its range estimates through various methods. He noted that Tesla is even considering the variation in vehicle range brought about by tire pressure.

He added that many other variables may also affect range estimates, such as battery heating and cooling, air density, cell phone charging and more.

While accurate mileage estimates are very helpful for EV owners on long road trips, they may not be very useful for everyday Tesla drivers - after all, some people really only use their Tesla as a commuter car.

In addition, when you're out driving in the winter, if you're an EV owner, of course you'll want your vehicle's range to be strong enough, and if the system can combine various factors and provide you with a relatively accurate mileage estimate, then it can eliminate your mileage anxiety.
