Tesla FSD Price Increase Of 25% Next Month

August 22, the United States Tesla CEO Elon Musk 21 in social media tweeted that Tesla's highest configuration of assisted driving software, that is, FSD in North America from September 5, the price increased to $ 15,000, an increase of 25%.

Currently, customers pay $12,000 for the full price of FSD software or $199 for a monthly subscription. Musk wrote that customers who place orders before Sept. 5 will enjoy the $12,000 current price, but will not be able to take immediate delivery. Tesla owners with existing vehicles can upgrade their software to FSD in less than two minutes.

Elon Musk did not say whether the monthly payment will also increase the price.

He said last month that the FSD price was "ridiculously cheap" relative to its value.

All new Tesla cars are equipped with the standard version of the Assisted Driving software Autopilot, which has an "enhanced" version that is less expensive than FSD.

According to Elon Musk, by the end of this year, Tesla's electric cars can be truly "fully autonomous" with the help of FSD. According to Tesla, FSD includes advanced features such as "traffic signal and stop sign control" and "navigation with Autopilot".

Data from the U.S. website Techcrunch shows that there are about 100,000 vehicles equipped with FSD, a number that remained steady in the first half of the year.

The site says that although FSD is called "fully automated driving," it doesn't really mean it doesn't need to be controlled by a human; the driver needs to be alert at all times and take over control of the vehicle when needed. Because of this, the California Department of Motor Vehicles recently accused Tesla of falsely advertising the FSD and Autopilot system features. The agency is currently reviewing the FSD software.

The U.S. Consumer News & Business Channel 21 reported that since 2016, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched an investigation into 38 crashes related to Tesla vehicles that were suspected of using Autopilot Standard or a higher level of assisted driving system at the time of the incident.

Elon Musk said in late January that Tesla's most important product this year and next is not a car, but software that supports autonomous driving and robotics. He predicted that the Autopilot software will become Tesla's most important profit point. He also disclosed that Tesla engineers are developing a humanoid robot called "Optimus Prime", which is expected to be launched next year.
