Tesla Gets Exclusive Access Lane At U.S.-Mexico Border Crossing
Elon Musk has been more annoyed lately, with cryptocurrencies represented by Bitcoin taking another big dive. Bitcoin has fallen below the $20,000 mark, back down to December 2020 and January 2021 levels compared to November 2021 when both highs fell by 72% and 79%. The roller coaster price changes have cost Tesla, which has been speculating heavily on coins, a total of 43,200 bitcoins, according to its holdings, and with a purchase price of about $1.5 billion in early 2021, Tesla's bitcoin holdings are floating at a loss of $600 million, or nearly 40%, based on current prices. Numerous retail investors are suing for damages.
SpaceX is not much better, July 11, 16:20, SpaceX in the starship "Super Heavy Booster 7" booster ignition test, an accidental explosion, live footage, the scene appeared a loud noise, instantly burst into flames.
Elon Musk began, "Yes, it's not good. Our team is assessing the damage." He later confirmed that an oxygen-rich fuel environment caused the explosion, though the main body of the rocket appeared to be intact. The booster is known to have 33 Raptor engines, with liquid oxygen as the oxidizer and methane as the primary fuel. In fact, after the first big explosion, the booster in the following hours there were several small explosions and fires, until 20:10, that is, nearly 4 hours after the ignition, SpaceX's drones and pickup trucks arrived at the scene of the accident, to start the aftermath and accident investigation work. At this point, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration said it is closely monitoring the SpaceX "Starship" booster fire and explosion, and maintain close contact with SpaceX, although the agency does not have the authority to investigate the matter.
But in the midst of all the bad news, there is one good thing, for example, after Tesla's second quarter earnings were released, the higher-than-expected numbers were a relief to Tesla's investors. And as the world's highest market capitalization car company, Tesla still has a lot of influence, such as a special transit channel opened for it, I have to say that Elon Musk's face is really not small!
Tesla has reportedly reached an agreement with the Mexican state of Nuevo León to add a dedicated lane at the border crossing for the sole use of the company and its suppliers. For a company to have a dedicated border crossing is definitely a very impressive presence, and as CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk has proudly touted that many of the parts in its cars are made locally in the U.S. While there is some truth to this claim, every car company uses a variety of parts produced by outside suppliers, and Tesla likewise has a number of parts from neighboring Mexico, and there are rumors that Tesla moved its headquarters to Austin, Texas, to be closer to suppliers in the Mexican state of Nuevo León.
The matter of Tesla getting a dedicated lane is also apparently a way for the state of Nuevo Leon to promote increased investment by auto suppliers.
