Elon Musk Says Tesla Cars With Built-in Steam Project "have Made Progress"
The Tesla Silicon Valley Car Club Twitter account recently posted a short video showing how to use Tesla's in-car system to play video games.
The video uses multiple modes of operation. The demonstrator first uses the car's touch screen to play the classic puzzle game "2048"; then uses the vehicle's steering wheel to play an "immersive" go-kart game on the screen; and finally, connects the PS4 joystick to the car's system using a cable to showcase the retro cartoon crossover game "Teacup Head" from Microsoft.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed in an interaction with netizens that they have made progress on their "Tesla car built-in Steam" project and will probably release a demo next month.
Back in February, Musk revealed that Tesla was working to bring a library of Steam games to the in-car system. At a conference, Musk had said that
Tesla's goal is to stop porting individual games to the car's infotainment system and instead wants owners to be able to play all the games on Steam in the future, which is more in the long-term interest.
Tesla's in-car system now comes with a number of entertainment options, such as a number of mini-games and video sites. Back in December 2021, Musk tweeted, " A lot of people don't realize that you can watch almost any show in a Tesla car."
However, Tesla's integration of entertainment methods into the in-car system has also received a lot of criticism. Most critics believe that these entertainment methods will affect the driver's attention to some extent, thus causing traffic accidents.
