Elon Musk Brings The Hammer Down On Journalists Who Dox
The new Twitter chief executive fired several journalists for what he claimed were violations of Twitter policy, including CNN's Donie O'Sullivan, The Washington Post's Drew Harwell, The New York Times' Ryan Mac, Mashable's Matt Binder, The Intercept's Micah Lee and independent journalist Aaron Rupar. Self-proclaimed free speech advocate Elon Musk threw his social media platforms into chaos on Thursday.
BuzzFeed News reporter Katie Notopoulos was live on Twitterspace, a chat convened by journalists to discuss the sudden ban Two journalists affected by the ban participated in the conversation through a loophole that allowed the suspended account to join Twitterspace.
so far, i’ve been able to confirm about half the accounts suspended posted links to the jet tracker thing in violation of the new doxx’ing policy. unclear just yet about the rest, but i think it’s safe to say the rule is for real. https://t.co/8MDCG19kNO
